Dayboats Conditions of Hire

BOOKINGS – PAYMENTS and DEPOSITS

Bookings may be by telephone, on-line, letter or in person.

The Booking must be confirmed by payment of the Booking Deposit of £150.00 or the cost of the hire.

Payments may be made in cash, debit card by telephone.
The Booking deposit will be converted to a Security / Damage deposit and held by us for the duration of the Hire Period.
The deposit will be refunded provide no damage or loss has occurred and no claims are pending.
The Hire Fee must be paid on or before the day of the Hire in addition to the Security / Damage Deposit.

PLEASE NOTE All Male or all Female Parties if accepted are required to pay a double deposit during the hire period

Cheques are no longer accepted except by special arrangement and at least 7 working days before the hire.

Full Day Bookings may be made for any boat on any day.

Half Day and Hourly bookings are usually only available during the weekdays or at weekends out of the busy season.

Once a booking has been made and the deposit paid the boat is available for your use for the time booked and the Customer is responsible for the full Hire Fee.

No refunds can be given for cancellations or failure to take the boat for whatever reason unless we are able to re-let the boat in which case a proportionate refund may be made less £15.00 administration fee.

In all cases once a booking has been made and payment taken by card if a decision to refund is made there will be a minimum administration charge of £ 15.00. Plus a 10% charge of the hire cost.

No Bookings can be finalised without payment of a deposit or credit / debit card details and customer authority.

DAMAGES AND RETURN TIMES

Customers are responsible for the safe navigation of the boats. Any damage costs and/or cost of replacing broken or missing equipment will be deducted from the deposit.  Customers must return the boats at the time arranged and absolutely no later than 6 p.m. An extra charge will be made for extended hire times:
Up till 6 p.m. – Pro-rata the hire rate providing this is agreed and no other customers are waiting for the boat (eg. afternoon changeovers).
After 6 pm – penalty charges as published on the boat and / or in the office. This is to allow time for us to prepare the boats for the next day and to compensate for staff overtime costs.
Abandonment of craft will result in total loss of deposit.

SAFETY

Do not sit, stand or lay on any boat cabin top.

In particular our electric launch canopies are not strong enough and serious damage and / or personal injury may occur.

The number of passengers specified on the boat must not be exceeded if you are reported as having more than the stated number you will be breaking the law.

The Damage Deposit will be forfeit if any incidents are reported.

It is an offence to be drunk in charge of a boat. Accidents and damage are more likely to occur.

Lock keepers and River officials will notify us of any occurrence of this nature and the Police may be called to any lock or Boatyard.
